About Us

Hi! I’m Ava, the founder of Jurassic Wildlife!

My passion for animals—particularly reptiles—has been with me for as long as I can remember. I remember being a little kid, spending hours catching lizards and building makeshift enclosures. But it was when I was six years old that my fascination with snakes truly began, I watched documentaries, read books, and did countless hours of research! Soon after, I welcomed my first pet snake, Wizard, a blonde spotted python, who remains part of my collection today!

As I grew older, my passion evolved into breeding and studying reptiles even further, with my first successful project being a pair of 100% het albino spotted pythons that I bred when I was 14 years old. I continued to expand my knowledge by working alongside experienced reptile breeders, keepers, educators, and veterinarians, gaining expertise in husbandry, genetics, and ethical keeping and breeding techniques.

Currently, I have completed a Certificate II in Animal Studies, a Biology course from TAFE Queensland, a Venomous Snake Handling & Awareness course that is accredited by the Department of Environment & Heritage Protection, a multitude of python and reptile husbandry courses, a herpetology and zoo husbandry course, attended lectures at the University of Queensland for reptile viruses, completed experience working as a Veterinary Nurse Intern, and so much more! I plan to commence a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at the University of Queensland in April 2025, with a long-term goal of advancing into exotic veterinary medicine.

Since founding Jurassic Wildlife in 2017, I have been dedicated to producing healthy, vibrant, and ethically bred reptiles, focusing on developing new and exotic Antaresia morphs while maintaining the highest standards of husbandry. I strive to educate people about these incredible animals through educational resources and advance the reptile industry by promoting reptile husbandry practices.
